Alternatives to Discounting Your Offers on Black Friday

As a Money Mentor, I already know how much women already chronically undercharge for their services, so I don't advocate discounting your offers on Black Friday, as odds are - you're already not charging enough as it is! 

I once ran an impromptu Birthday sale, that I thought would be fun for my audience, where I discounted several of my offers throughout the big day, with an increasing scale of discounts. Sounds fun right? Wrong! Not only did I receive several emails from my audience saying that they were annoyed by the amount of emails that they had received, I also had a current client request a refund as she was again annoyed that other people could join my program at a hugely discounted rate. Add on top the dismal amount of sales generated, as I hadn't primed my audience beforehand, and my client refund, and I actually LOST MONEY on my sale. Happy Birthday to me! 

And lets not mention the discount offer that I ran through a well known online site (rhymes with bowcher) that saw my salon booked out for months with clients that were never going to return or pay full price for our services. 

To avoid you making the same mistakes, giving into the temptation to low ball your income potential, or annoying your current clients, here are a few alternatives that you can offer this Black Friday to your audience: 

1 - Rather than offering discounts, you can create urgency and a reason to invest NOW, by offering relevant bonuses, that will enable your clients to achieve results even quicker. If you were a fitness coach, this could be by offering bonus meal plans or shopping lists, that are only going to add to the value of your programs. Ideally you would want to add a bonus that doesn't require your personal time and energy, that would be difficult to fulfill if you sold 100 offers i.e. 1:1 sessions. I once had a client who had tried to offer Afternoon Tea with herself, as a bonus to her program. She quickly pivoted when I pointed out that she couldn't possibly get around the country, without a time machine, to deliver on her promise.  

2 - You could create a low-ticket, micro program from an existing program that you already have. You could then launch at a 'Beta' price, to encourage quick sales, and provide testimonials and feedback. I have created The Millionaire Playlist, just for this reason. It is a low-ticket offer that will give you incredible shifts and insights into your relationship with money, delivered via an exclusive Podcast series, however there is still room to invest at a higher level inside my Wealth Activation Course, if you want to dive even deeper. 

3 - Bundle two or several offers together, if they compliment each other, and provide an overal discount for investing at a higher level. For me, I often bundle together my Wealth Activation Course with my business building programs, as if you don't have a good relationship with money, all of the strategy in the world wont help you to create sales. 

4 - Pre-sell the programs that you haven't even created and offer an Early Bird discount for the quick action takers in your audience, to reward them for their belief and loyalty. 

5 - Make continuation offers to your current clients, that reward them for their loyalty. You could be booking out your 1:1 offers for next year NOW, by offering either a great rate or bonus for your current clients who want to continue the party together. I have clients who have been working with me for years because I always incentivise them to expand their vision, and work on their next level of growth. This provides stability to my business, means I can provide even deeper transformation for my clients, and I am committing to my own growth in the process. 

6 - Offer an extended payment plan to your current offers, to make them even more accessible than ever to clients who were on the fence, and add to your Monthly Reoccurring Revenue - winner winner!
